The company is engaged in the trade of fresh berries. It was formed in 2003 by Hortifrut S.A. and has its registered head office in the city of Sevilla in Spain. The company markets, sells and distributes fresh berries in Europe, and trades its products under the brand name SOUTHERN SUN to every country in Continental Europe, United Kingdom and Ireland. Products include blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, red currants, and wild fruits. During all stages of production, harvest and post-harvest processes, the company guarantees the quality and healthfulness of its berries with a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Program. All parts of its Food Safety and Quality Assurance Program are in compliance with accredited international monitoring standards including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices GMP), Good Agricultural Practices for USA (GAP) and Good Agricultural Practices for Europe (EUREGAP).
